We've featured our top ten doggie films, and canine TV stars, so we thought it was time to showcase the dogs of the music world. Here we have our top ten songs featuring dogs. Click on the title of each to remind yourself of the song if you're not familiar.

How Much is That Doggy in the Window - Patti Page
An oldie but a goodie. Many of us learnt this song as children but it was also a hit for Patti Page amongst others.

The Puppy Song - Harry Nilsson
A sweet little ode to having a puppy companion.

Who Let the Dogs Out? - Baha Men
This one hit wonder always gets everyone up on the dance floor but did we ever find out the answer to the question?!

They Call it Puppy Love - Donny Osmond
For teenage girls in the early Seventies this was a classic and, let's face it, who doesn't know the words?

Hound Dog - Elvis Presley
Perhaps this isn't strictly about a dog but we love it, so we had to include it.

Diamond Dogs - David Bowie
Similarly this another song with a dog reference but not actually about our canine friends. The cover makes it worth including in our list!

I Wanna be Your Dog - The Stooges
Before Iggy went solo he had this hit with his band The Stooges.

Do the Dog - The Specials
This one's for all you ska fans out there or anyone who loves a good dance.

Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
We've opted for a 'hounds' reference here and it comes courtesy of Kate Bush.

Gonna Buy Me a Dog - The Monkees
The Monkees sing about having a dog to love you and keep you company but we already knew that was a good idea, didn't we?

Martha, My Dear - The Beatles
Paul McCartney's ode to his pet dog, Martha. Lovely!
